Why do you need to know the basics of mobile app development languages?

Learning programming languages is a hard nut to crack unless you know the basics.

Every programming language has its building blocks, which help budding programmers learn the language from scratch.

App development languages are no exception. They are, of course, advanced, but the secret to cracking these languages stays the same — you have to learn the basics.

Besides, many mobile app development languages resemble and are even based on languages like C and C++, something you have known for a long time now. Therefore, learning app development languages can be easy and fun if you have mastered these languages.

Which is the best programming language for mobile apps?

There are several programming languages for different sorts of tasks. Choosing the right language for the mobile app is different from choosing one to learn. The right selection yields solutions that are concise, easy to code, easy to scale, easy to debug and fix.

Often people will tell you that there is no choice and that all languages are equal and are developed to fulfil a particular purpose. However, it can be quite confusing, if you are new in the mobile development arena and lack information about programming languages.

So, if you are in a confused mess, the following factors can you help you choose the best language easily:

  1. The targeted platform.
  2. Elasticity of the language.
  3. The time to produce.
  4. Performance, support, and community.
  5. The purpose to build the app.
  6. Efficiencies of the programmer.

Expressiveness, performance, reliability, quirks, and features of each are crucial to consider before you choose to work with a specific programming language. You may find some languages are a better fit for projects than others, for example, if you are aiming to create a game, object-oriented programming language would be a more intuitive choice. Make sure to note down your exact requirements before you approach app development companies for your mobile needs. It will help ensure you both are on the same page, leading to a seamless app development process.

Types of mobile apps

You can also select a language for app development based on the type of app you are developing.

By type of apps, I mean native and hybrid apps.

  • You build Native apps for a single platform using its specific language. So apps that are specific to Android or iOS are native. You can code these apps in their supported language only. For example, Java is apparently the best language for Android app development, and Swift is popular for coding iOS apps.
  • Hybrid apps combine the features of both native and web apps. You code your app in one language, but it can run on multiple platforms. Instagram, for example, is a hybrid app that runs on various browsers and operating systems like Android, iOS, and Windows. JavaScript is the best programming language for mobile apps built for Android and iOS, and even PWAs (Progressive Web Applications).

To help you make an accurate choice – the set of below questions can serve as a starting point to make the best decision –

  • Does the language have proper ecosystem support? Will it survive long haul?
  • Choice of environment the project will run on.
  • Is there any specific infrastructure or deployment considerations like any new hardware requirement?
  • Can the developer program in this language? Can he maintain and deploy on time and within budget?
  • Can the language make the app scalable?
  • Do you have the need for third-party integration tools?
  • Are there any security or legacy codebase considerations for the project?

Are there any other constraints or any performance benchmarks?

In conclusion

There are constant evolution’s in the world of programming languages. Some evergreen languages such as JAVA and JavaScript have earned an eternal place in the list, whereas, other languages like Kotlin and R have risen at an outstanding pace and have made it to the list of the most popular programming languages.

With a list of questions to ask, factors to consider, and the above-listed pros and cons, we are sure you can make a sensible decision regarding which language to choose. After all, choosing the right mobile programming language will help you develop agile mobile apps that will weather the changes in future business needs.

So, what are you waiting for? Dive into the nitty-gritty of the programming language, choose the best and gift your business the most needed mobile application to reach a more substantial mass.

  • when you develop a game, what are the hardware and software you need to develop a game?

    • Gaming development might be a lot bit challening. If you want to develop for android only Java and C# might be a good option. Because Mobile Games are usually not complicated and so the 2 using unity(recommended) might be the best. Games running in Java would work on Android only but those written in c# would work on the web, ios and android, even on the pc (but not advised).
While if you want to develop console games, Pc complex games (AAA) then c++ and a little bit of c is the way to go. Although c++ might be the most complex language you can ever learn, there is a reason despite, being a difficult its still popular. There is no other programming language out there that offers pointers* and Objects* like the way c++ does, making it suitable for complex projects (objects) while controlling memory (pointers*). And so the combination of the two makes it probably the best language for massive game industries and other applications like Adobe, Autodesk and others (usually in gbs’ right).
But to be very honest, in the game industry, the language is just an element in the pipeline.

The stages are like this if you are interested:
      – Designing Characters zbrush , Daz Studio tops in this field, with the combinations of substance painter, you are industry standard
      – Modelling the Environemnt ,autodesk maya and blender lead the industry. Blender is free by the way..

      – Game-engine (put in a place where the characters and environment) are put in and given a language they can follow and speak. Here you tell the characters, if the user presses this you do this. In short, here the game becames alive. for c++ (recommended are cry-engine and unreal-engine)

      – Animation; each game has an animation or short cut scenes, whatever they are called, one needs an instrument that can animate 3d-models but isn’t complicated since you are not using them for cartoon purposes. (autodesk 3ds max) would be my recommendation.

All of the above software and languages can be used for me than the mentioned above reasons since they all belong to 3d and animation. Please visit their sites for more information
